BTS completes its eighth year
Bangkok Mass Transit System Co has completed its eighth year of operation, with total patronage of 833,937,041 trips, or 412,762 trips on an average workday.

Since the opening of the Skytrain on December 5, 1999, the highest daily traffic was recorded on June 30, 2006, when commuters took 550,577 trips.
Executive chairman and CEO Keeree Kanjanapas said in a recent statement that to accommodate growth in passengers and extensions, the company has purchased 12 four-car trains worth US$70 million (Bt2.36 billion).
A satisfaction survey
conducted by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University commissioned by the company showed the satisfaction rate was 4.11
out of a full 5 points.
