Esquire
This is the guy whose concert paralysed the Manchester traffic, and whose model appeared in Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum just six months after the release of his debut album. Growing up in an Irish family in Manchester, Ward led a simple childhood life. He won TV's "X Factor" competition in 2005 with "If You're Not The One", the only CD he had at home at the time.
We used to believe that only the rich and the physically challenged had their clothes made to fit. Then major ready-to-wear brands like Brooks Brothers, Giorgio Armani and Hermes started customising their products to perfectly fit their clients and today the service is offered by a host of brands including Tod's, Ferragamo and Nike.
Then, witness a fashion experiment by Thom Browne who says traditional doesn't always work. He's trying to create his own school of style by coming up with extra-short pants and a really tiny suit. An ordinary guy with little sense of fashion is brought into Browne's shop, Tribeca, and dressed in the cutting-edge suit from top to toe. Mr Ordinary says the suit hasn't changed his life, although he admits he does get noticed more when he goes out in public!
This month, Esquire also talks to three popular Thai bands. Scrubb chats about downloads, expressing the view that CDs won't be around for much longer, while popsters ETC explain why they continue to produce sweet love songs. And Groove Riders return to the scene after six years with a disco-style outing that will have you tapping your toes.
