Vietnam dominate; hosts win sole gold

Khwanyuen Chanthra preserved Thailand's pride in wushu by bagging a single gold with Vietnam stamping their supremacy, landing four out of the 10 golds on the final day.

The Thai crushed Souphaphone of Laos 2-0 to take the men's under 52kg class title. Teerapong Saengdaeng picked a silver for the hosts after a slim 2-1 victory over Nguyen Van Tuan of Vietnam in the men's under 65kg.

Thailand got two bronzes in the women's category through Tukata Pradubbut in the under 48kg and the team in the duilian category. Vietnam's four golds came from Phan Anh Yen in the men's under 56kg, Nguyen Van Tuan in the men's under 65kg and Nguyen Thi Bich in the women's under 48kg, with Nguyen Thuy Ngan giving the team the last gold in the women's under 52kg class.
