Singapore's men triumphed in the 100m backstroke and 4x100m freestyle relay, while the city-state's Tao Li won the women's 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke titles.

Seventeen-year-old Zach Ong timed 59.46 seconds to win the men's 100m backstroke,  beating Indonesian Glenn Sutanto and Vietnamese Long Huy do.

Red-hot Li snatched her first gold of the day by clocking 1:00.33 min to win the women's 100m backstroke before grabbing her second in the 100m backstroke with a time of 1:04.05 min.

Thailand had to be content with only one gold when 20-year-old Thanawat Thana-kornworakiat timed 3:59.08 min to win the men's 400m freestyle. "This time is just 0:.00.01 better than my previous personal best. I'm glad to win my second SEA Games gold medal after winning this event in 2003,'' Thanawat said.
