Voting tip: Just go for the square root of pi

Okay, pencils ready? When you head to the polling booth on the 23rd you're going to need to know three numbers.

As of press time, no one in Thailand knew their numbers, but let's not panic. We still have almost two weeks to memorise which numbers correspond to the candidates we like. Soopsip, based way the hell out in Bang Na district, has been attending mnemonics classes to try and remember the three numbers as well as the name of the party we're voting for. It's not going to be easy, but we're game to try.

And so is People Power Party secretary-general Surapong Suebwonglee, bless his soul. He has no problem with his party's list number, but when reporters asked him for the numbers of the party's three candidates in his own constituency in Pathum Thani, his answer was something like this: "I have no idea."

He's signed up for the same class we're attending.

We always knew that politics was a numbers game, but this is ridiculous.
