In his letter dated December 4, Sarkozy said he was happy to learn that the King's health had improved.

The president emphasised the long and excellent relationship and the trust between Thailand and France. His country wanted to see more bilateral cooperation in the years to come.

France's Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, who visited Thailand in October, emphasised the relationship during his visit.

Sarkozy said he was very honoured that his country had the opportunity to receive members of the Thai Royal family, including Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirind-horn and HRH Princess Siri-vannavari Nariratana. Their visits effectively confirmed the excellent mutual relationship.

Sarkozy wished better health for HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana who, he said, had been a friend of France for a long time.
