Memoranda of understanding and distributorship agreements have been signed with IT industry leaders in each of the countries where CA plans to implement its new channel-partner sales model.

While planning to maintain a direct sales relationship with its large multinational customers with operations in Asia, CA says in-market partners will in future be the primary sales channel for the majority of customers in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

CA, which has customers in more than 140 markets, will be represented in Thailand by DataOne Asia.

Digital China will represent CA in mainland China and Hong Kong, while the company will be represented by Systex in Taiwan, Avnet Partner Solutions in Singapore, Patimas Computer Technology in Malaysia, the Asaba Computer Centre in Indonesia and Trends and Technologies in the Philippines.

"CA's in-country channel partners are highly skilled and experienced professionals who can help our customers gain maximum business value from our enterprise IT-management solutions," Gavin Selkirk, CA's senior vice president and general manager for the Asia-Pacific and Japan, said yesterday. "Our channel partnerships will also enable us to bring the benefits of CA's solutions to more customers throughout the region."

CA will maintain facilities and teams to support channel-partnership sales throughout the region, except in Indonesia.
