Four giant telecom firms teamed up wireless support

Qualcomm, together with CAT Telecom Plc, Huawei Technologies, and Princess Mother's Medical Volunteer (PMMV), have teamed up to provide wireless technological support to 49 operation sites of the PMMV in nine provinces.



Under the project, Qualcomm will donate 50 laptop computers, which will be supported 50 highspeed wireless data connection aircards and mobile phones from Huawei, for PMMV's rural operational sites in the nine provinces that are covered by CAT's Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) 2000 1x network.

The devices are for enhancing both wireless and Internet connection communications between PMMV staff and their units and support their medical operations in the provinces.

The provinces include Nong Khai, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Phanom, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Tak, Yala, Narathiwat, and Pattani.

Yooth Bodharamik, deputy secretary general of PMMV, said yesterday that the oneyear project would begin next February and in Narathiwat.
