GPS took over PAE

GPS Co Ltd, Dubaibased oil and gas company, has taken over PAE (Thailand), construction firm, and would change the Thai company's business structure from construction to oil and gas.

A source from PAE said the company is currently preparing to sell a big lot of around 100 million shares or 17.4 per cent of its capital via the Stock Exchange of Thailand to GPS.

GPS is interested to do business in the Kingdom after both parties have been in talk about the share sale since earlier this year and will conclude soon.

Yesterday, SET said it has ordered the trading halt of PAE saying significant information is circulating concerning share selling of the company's major shareholders about 100 million shares, 17.4 per cent of paidup capital, that might affect the company's major shareholder structure and management, but the SET has not yet been officially informed.

Therefore, the SET has temporarily halted trading of the company's securities, effective from yesterday morning trading session until the company has clarified or disclosed this material information to the SET.
