Surayud keeps mum

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont faced a tough question whether it was a slap in the face that the People Power Party will emerge victorious, according to serveral pollsters.

As head of the coup-installed government, Surayud gave a smile and declined to comment when a reporter asked whether he felt the coup was a failure since the People Power Party which represents the Thai Rak Thai party  may return to power.

Pressed further about the Special Branch's poll which appraised that the People Power Party will sweep the most seats, Surayud said briefly, ""That has nothing to do with me,'' he said.
