Campaign paper trail

The Democrat Party will distribute four million pamphlets in order to reach out to constituents and overcome the tight schedule for campaigning, party deputy spokesman Apichart Sakdiset said yesterday.

Published on November 28, 2007

"The pamphlets will highlight the 'People First' platform to demonstrate the readiness of the party and its leader Abhisit Vejjajiva to lead the country," he said.

The Democrats want to showcase a comprehensive policy package to tackle economic, political and social problems, he added.

Designed to look like a broadsheet newspaper, the pamphlet will feature articles written by chief adviser Chuan Leekpai, adviser Banyat Bantadtan and deputy leader Trairong Suwankhiri to convince voters why they should allow the Democrats to lead the next coalition government.

Pictures of party-list and constituent candidates and their ballot numbers are to be published in all three editions.
