Chocoholics looking for a serious fix should follow their noses to the Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa. From today to December 5, the hotel's pastry shop offers a rare chance for diners to choose from the myriad of different forms the sweet brown stuff can take.

A reproduction of a cocoa plant plantation will form the backdrop to the event and you will have the opportunity to taste and sample chocolate in everything from ice creams, bars, cakes and fondues to cold and hot drinks. There will also be chocolate-themed spa treatments by the award-winning Mandara Spa.

On display, too, is a cornucopia of cocoa confections waiting to be taken home.

Novel grapes

One the finest Australian wineries, Thomas Hardy & Sons, established in 1853, will make a presentation of selected wines by William David Hardy, the fifth-generation descendant of English novelist and poet Thomas Hardy who founded the winery, at Hamilton's Steak House of the Dusit Thani Hotel.

Hardy & Sons' outstanding wine selection will be individually matched in this not-to-be-missed five-course wine dinner specially created by Hamilton's talented chefs on Friday night from 7pm onwards.

A vegetable paradise

The several seasonal vegetables available during the cool season can be cooked in many ways and the Siang Ping Loh restaurant, at the Grand China Princess Hotel, is serving up the best Chinese versions.

Among the recommended tasty, nutritious and low-calorie fare is Chinese kale stir-fried in XO sauce. The specialities are being offered until November 30. The restaurant, located on the eighth floor, is open daily for lunch and dinner.
