Thirapat: Special branch poll is misleading

PM's Office Minister Theerapat Serirangsan is questioning National Police Commissioner General Seripisut Temiyavej on why the Special Branch Police Bureau conducted an election opinion poll.

Reports had it that the Buereau released the results of a survey that showed the People Power Party would win the most seats, 219.

Theerapat said if the bureau conducted the survey he would strongly oppose it. He said the agency did not have the duty to carry out such a poll.  "Research has found that poll results influence voters' decisions. That is why polls are used as as tool in election campaigns,'' he said.
