SET closes down 1.2%

Thai shares closed 1.2 per cent lower on Tuesday, tracking wobble in Wall Street and the regional stock markets.

The SET index closed at 822.99, off the day's trough at 820.90. Turnover was thin at Bt12.13 billion.

Among the most active stocks, PTT Plc (PTT) slid 1.62 per cent at Bt364, PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) fell 2.67 per cent at Bt146, Major Development Plc (MJD) closed at Bt4.42 on the debut, Banpu Plc (BANPU) was off 1.01 per cent at 394 and Thoresen Thai Agencies Plc (TTA) slumped 3.65 per cent at Bt46.25.
