Fee goes back to Bt55 from Dec 21

Drivers will have to pay Bt55 when using the Don Muang Tollway from December 21, to help reduce the operator's accumulated losses of more than Bt10 billion.

Don Muang Tollway executive Sombat Phanichewa yesterday said the company had decided to reinstate the rate immediately after the agreement with the government for a reduced fee of Bt30 ended.

"The company has suffered with a continually reduced profit and has not been able to solve its accumulated losses," Sombat said.

He said the reinstated rate was expected to enable the operator to make more profit and pay a dividend to shareholders within the next three years.
