
"We want to outline our views of the situation following the September 19 coup and some of the issues have not been touched by political parties for fear of being ejected from the race by the Election Commission," he said.
The rally will feature Chaturon Chaisang as a key speaker and his speech will be about political freedom, he said, ruling out speculation that the 111 would demand the Election Commission to cancel its ruling to prohibit them from campaign activities.
"The rally will have nothing to do with the campaigning," he said.
He warned that the 111 would move its rally site to the Democracy Monument if Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin denied the issuing of the permit
City spokesman Thanom Onketphol said the city administration had no jurisdiction over political rallies during the leadup to the balloting.
"The 111 should petition the EC to use one of the 12 public places designated for rallies," he said.
Thanom said Apirak has ruled out the use of Lan Khon Muang for political purposes because it is reserved for recreational activities of Bangkok residents.
"The area is in close proximity to Wat Suthas, hence it should be off limits to noisy protests," he said.
