He's a painter, too, though, so we can't really blame him for shunning the limelight in between shows.
And showtime is once again imminent: a full month at the Scala Theatre in Bangkok's Siam Square early in the New Year.
So, abruptly, Note is out of the woodwork and back in view, granting an audience to television's "Tee Sib" programme. Its presenters visited his home in Chiang Mai and sampled the fruits of his new business, an ice cream shop. Note got an i-berry franchise from his current close female friend.
Aroi maak, etc. Now let's talk about the Scala gig. He didn't get a TV crew all the way up North just for licks. The show's hosts (and Soopsip too, come to think of if it) obligingly announce that tickets go on sale on December 1 for Bt500 to Bt2,500 for the 38 shows from February 1 to March 2.
In Note's corner of show business, 38 shows represent 38 pairs of underwear and 38 pairs of shoes. He changes every time the curtain comes down. (Being onstage must be even scarier than we thought!)
On the other hand, he doesn't use a fancy set or elaborate props or a cast of thousands, so the wardrobe is his only outlay apart from renting the theatre and tipping the lighting man, so he can expect to bank a bundle when he heads back to Chiang Mai.
