Sudket and Saralee ease into China final

BADMINTON] A Herculean task awaits Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam in the mixed-doubles final of the China Open Super Series in Guangzhou.

[They will face world champions Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir from Indonesia today.

In the semi-finals yesterday, the unseeded Thai duo defeated the host pairing of Xie Zhongbo and Zhang Yawen 21-16 21-17.

The Thais, runners-up in the Singapore Super and semi-finalists in Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold and the Denmark Super Series, took 42 minutes to get the better of their Chinese opponents. They also performed superbly in the quarter-finals on Friday, when they beat world No 1 and top seeds Zheng Bo and Gao Ling from China.

Earlier, two-time world champions Nova and Liliyana tamed third seeds Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms from England 21-19 21-15 in just

36 minutes, for a place in the final.

Nova and Liliyana can prove to be a tough nut to crack for the Thai tandem.

 Sudket and Saralee have lost seven of their eight encounters against the fancied Indo-nesians, with the only victory coming in the quarter-finals of the recent Denmark Super Series.
