Good morning Your Excellency Dr. Yongyut Yuthavong, the Minister of Science and Technology; distinguished guests; ladies and gentlemen;
I'm pleased to welcome all of you to this international conference under the topic of ASIA'S EMERGING RESPONSE TO CLIMATE CHANGE today in Bangkok.
Bangkok Airways in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Nation Group and others in the private sector; today hold this international conference for executives from different industries to hear from environmentalists, experts, and policymakers over the issue of the climate change.
This conference is aimed to increase attention for all stakeholders to stimulate more widespread efforts focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, it is a common ground for participants to inter-mingle, while also to learn from the speakers of how ideas on sustainable frameworks have become successful in certain circumstances.
The world's climate change is now a prime concern, and in many cases, life-claiming threats to mankind. We may all have witnessed more of natural disasters changing in intensity as well as distribution of extreme weather events particularly occurring within the past decade.
For this reason, I'd like to urge all of you, ladies and gentlemen, to take a prompt action to keep the world in a good balance. It's now time that we all must show our responsibility to the world that we live in.
Calling for greener way of life, Bangkok Airways is launching a campaign called "Love Earth, Save Earth" to coincide with our 40th Anniversary next year. As little as we could do, we truly hope that this campaign will nevertheless contribute to a more liveable earth for us all.
Lastly, I hope this conference would make a good start for all of us here today to join hands in protecting the world for our next generations.
