On December 5, HM the King's birthday, besides the fireworks over the Chao Phya River, there will also be fireworks in other provinces including Nonthaburi, Udon Thani and Uthai Thani. These nation-wide celebrations will be broadcast on Television Channel 11, Dhipavadee said.

General Montri Supaporn, who chairs the subcommittee organising the festival, said each fireworks display will be different, but they will all express loyalty to HM the King and also the participating countries' good relations with Thailand.

Nearby roads will be blocked to accommodate people coming out to admire the fireworks, he said, adding the public would be able to see the show from about 1 to 1.5 kilometres from any of the event venues.
