The EC has found some applicants lacking credentials and others running under different party banners.

Altogether 31 parties registered in the race for 80 House seats from eight zones.

Meanwhile, the EC has received 75 complaints of electoral fraud, with most of them involving candidates in Zone 6, which consists of Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, said EC deputy secretary general Jarungwit Pumma.

For direct voting, 39 parties are fielding 3,894 candidates for 400 House seats up for grabs in 157 constituencies across the country.

The People Power Party has the most candidates with 400, followed by the Democrats with 395, Thai Ruam Ruay with 386, Matchima Thipataya with 363 and Puea Pandin with 344.

Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana is putting up 324 candidates and Chart Thai 285.
