Toyota sign Germany's Glock

Cologne, Germany (dpa) - Toyota have signed German hopeful Timo Glock from next season onwards, the Japanese Formula One team announced on Monday.

Glock, who had four races for Jordan in 2004, left his position as BMW-Sauber test driver for Toyota where he takes the place of departed compatriot Ralf Schumacher. The other Toyota driver is Jarno Trulli of Italy.

"Timo has great motorsport experience in several different categories," said Toyota Racing chief Tadashi Yamashina.

Glock, 25, signed a multi-year deal at the Cologne-based team, for which he is set to make his first pre-season drives December 4-6 in Jerez, Spain.

"It's a great feeling to be a Formula One driver again," said the GP2 champion Glock.

"Even though I have not raced in Formula One since 2004, I have tested quite regularly so I expect it will take very little time for me to get back into the groove."
