Transformers

The Story: Young high school student Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) accidentally finds himself in the middle of a secret war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, two sets of robotic aliens who are fighting for control of Earth's bountiful natural resources.

Published on November 17, 2007

Directed by Michael Bay and based on a much-loved comic, the movie is great fun for much of the first half but becomes confusing towards the end, especially during the robot fighting scenes.

The Disc: Three versions are available, each with different options and at different prices.

The one-disc version comes with a director's commentary only and, with a cover price of Bt299, is selling for Bt230 and Bt280.

Both two-disc versions have a range of special features including interviews with the cast and crew, on-set location reports, stunt training and a back story for the Autobots and Decepticons. The more expensive special edition also packs a stack of featurettes, among them the making of the Skorponok Desert Attack scene and concept boards. Both come in steel boxes with a robot gift (while stocks last).

Subtitles options include English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean and Thai.

The cover prices are Bt999 and Bt1499 respectively, the first DVD selling for Bt720 to Bt920 and the second for Bt990 to Bt1400.

Grey's Anatomy: Season 3

The Story: This hit medical series centres on young interns Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Izzy Stevens (Katherine Heigl), who work at Seattle Grace Hospital. The action in the first two seasons focused more on each character's personal problems and love life than the drama of a general hospital, making the series feel rather like "Melrose Place" in white coats. But this latest season has more "ER"-type medical drama.

The Disc: Special features include "Making Rounds with Patrick Dempsey", "Shades of Glory: One-On-One with Ellen Pompeo", "Prescription for Success: Introducing Jane Doe", and "Good medicine: Favourite Scenes".

Audio commentaries are also available. Options for the dubbed soundtrack are English and Spanish while for subtitles there's English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Korean, Malaysian, Bahasa Indonesian and Thai.

The cover price is Bt1,990 and the seven-disc pack is retailing for between Bt1,600 and Bt1,920.
