Royal paintings

 Paintings by

His Majesty the King, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and HRH Princess Siribha Chudhab-horn are on display until November 25 in the Eden Zone on the second floor of CentralWorld.

Along with the royal paintings, the exhibition has more than 100 paintings, sculptures, lithography and mixed-media works by Silpakorn University alumni. Among the artists are Sawasdi Tantisuk, Chalood Nimsamer, Chamruang Vichienket, Prayat Pongdam, Thawan Duchanee, Preecha Thaothong Chalermchai Kositpipat, Panya Vijinthanasarn and Nonthiwat Chanthanapalin.

A high tea for the fund-raising auction of some of the works takes place from 2 to 4.30pm on Sunday in the Grand Ballroom at the Plaza Athenee Hotel on Wireless Road.

Proceeds will be donated to the King's charity projects and the Silpakorn University Alumni Association.

Celebrated soprano

Italian soprano Lucia Aliberti joins the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra for a concert at 7 tonight and at 4pm tomorrow at the College of Music Auditorium at Mahidol University, Salaya.

Aliberti's speciality are the works of Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini and Verdi. She practices a technique that allows her to sustain even the most difficult parts of the Belcanto repertoire. Her stage presence and dramatic capabilities have been featured by the Metropolitan Opera New York ("Lucia di Lammermoor"), the Scala in Milan ("Beatrice di Tenda", "La Sonnambula", "Don Pasquale"), Deutsche Oper Berlin ("Anna Bolena"), Theatre Champs-Elysee Paris, Queen Elizabeth Hall London and Suntory Hall Tokyo ("La Traviata").

Brother rockers unplugged

Brother  rockers Asanee and Wasan Chotikul return to the stage at 7pm tomorrow for their "Rum Rai" concert at Rajamangala Stadium.

They will treat fans with songs from their new album, "Puk Ron" ("On Vacation"), which offers new, acoustic arrangements of their hits.

 Accompanying Asanee-Wasan will be drummer Kittisuk Kotkam, guitarist Pichet Kuewan, bassist Arkom Nutchnin and keyboardist Anuruk Saelee, with vocal help from Sawanit Sawapan and Sita Salai. They will perform songs like "Ba Hob Fang", "Pan Jai", "Yin Yom", "Rum Rai" and "Jintanakarn".
