Chairat Yapanya, chairman of the province's auto dealers club, is confident of the sale growth due to rising public confidence in the economy after the setting of the election date.
He alaso noted that Chiang Mai's auto sales this year should increase by 10 per cent from 2006, when the total market value was about Bt7 billion.
"Since political stability is seen in the third quarter, more people have been more confident in spending. The sale value has been rising against the rising oil prices," Chairat said.
