Two people belonging to Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi's party were caught in the act of hanging the posters in Yangon while two others fled before police could catch them, witnesses said.
The posters accused China of being "a thief" in an apparent reference to Beijing's policy of supporting Burma's regime through payments on oil concessions and imports of jade, timber and other raw materials.
It was the first such case of political activists being arrested in Burma for expressing anti-Chinese sentiments.
China is one of Burma's few allies in the international community. At the United Nations Security Council it has repeatedly used its veto power to oppose anti-Burmese motions, most recently in the aftermath of a brutal government crackdown on protests led by Buddhist monks on September 26-27.//DPA
