Vehicle sales in October increased 8.17 per cent month on month, under fierce marketing conditions which forced car distributors to launch promotion campaigns.

Data compiled by Tri Petch Isuzu Sales showed that in the month a total of 57,860 units were sold, 44.65 per cent belonging to Toyota. Trailing the biggest car company were Isuzu (25.19) and Honda (9.02 per cent).

However, the first 10-month sales figures represented a 5.68 per cent drop year on year, with the total sale volume of 509,186 units. Toyota sold 225,498 units or 44.29 per cent; Isuzu, 117,751 units or 23.13 per cent; and Honda, 53,455 units or 10.50 per cent.

Indicating the economic slowdown, 1-tonne pickup truck sales in the first 10 months dropped 8.82 per cent year on year.
