Sudarat appeared at the Thai-Japanese Youth Centre in Ding Daeng during the registration of the constitutency MPs on Monday. She said she came to give moral support for the PPP candidates.
"I admit that it is been hard to play any role after I have been forbidden form politics. Even though it is not justified, I try to conform to the law. I come today as a supporter. Please do not ban me from being Thai. I should be allowed to help the party in the election campaign,'' she said.
People Power Party party-list candidate Chalerm Yoobamrung on Monday said none of the 111 former executives of the disbanded Thai Rak Thai Party helped the party arrang party-list candidates.
Chalerm said the election law however specifically banned the 111 former executives from becoming MP candidates, holding political positions and establish political parties.
PPP leader Samak Sundaravej last week sparked a heated war of words with a group of reporters who tried to press him to answer if Sudarat and Newin Chidchob helped the party decide on the party-list candidates.
Sudarat downplayed that the conflict between Samak and the media will have adverse impact on the party's chance of winning in the general election.
