More gas supply expected in 2008

Over 800 million cubic feet of natural gas would flow into the system in March 2008, sufficient for the rising demand, said an executive of PTT Plc.

Chitrapongse Kwangsukstit, senior executive vice president of PTT, said additional supply of 100 mcf per day would come from the Arthit Field in the Gulf of Thailand which would be available in late February 2008. At full capacity, 330 mcf per day would come from the field.

About 400 mcf per day from the Joint Development Area (JDA) would also be supplied in March. While 100 mcf would be supplied to the Songkhla power plant, the rest would be sent to power plants and industrial plants in Rayong.

"Gas prices tend to move up, as gas prices are moving in tandem with oil prices."
