Bochum leave Duisburg in dumps

Duisburg, Germany (dpa) - Visiting VfL Bochum defeated struggling MSV Duisburg 2-0 Friday to move clear of the immediate relegation zone in the German Bundesliga.

Daniel Imhof opened the scoring in the 29th minute and Tommy Bechmann headed the second six minutes from time to give Bochum a second successive victory following a 5-3 win over Wolfsburg last weekend.

Bochum move to 15 points from 13 matches while Duisburg remain second to bottom on 9 points and could go last if Energie Cottbus win on Saturday in the eastern derby at Hansa Rostock.

In Saturday's top games, league leaders Bayern Munich visit champions VfB Stuttgart, second-placed SV Hamburg are at Schalke 04, while third-placed Werder Bremen entertain fourth-placed Karlsruhe.
