Rules move

The Finance Ministry will propose that the Cabinet revise rules that could disqualify Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding from participating in independent-power-producer bidding.

Finance Minister Chalongphob Sussangkarn said that as a short-term solution, the Cabinet would be asked to waive some of the rules "to minimise the impact".

SME boost

The Office of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion (Osmep) and the Federation of Thai Industries will revise conditions of a scheme that provides funding to SMEs wanting to increase energy efficiency.

Osmep director-general Jhitraporn Techacharn said under the revision, SMEs could obtain loans to increase energy efficiency of existing machinery, as well as purchase new machinery.
