PTT ups retail prices by 50 satang

PTT will on Friday raise the retail prices of all fuel products by 50 satang per litre, as continued spikes in global oil prices led to a loss of Bt55-Bt60 million a day.

Chaiwat Chooritti, senior executive vice president of PTT, said in a statement that so far this year, PTT has raked in losses of over Bt3 billion from the retail business.

After the increase, premium petrol and diesel will be priced at historical peaks of Bt31.69 and Bt28.64, respectively.

Chaiwat noted that ahead of the increase, PTT shouldered Bt2.50 per litre of losses from the sale of every litre of fuel.

On Thursday, refined diesel prices in Singapore rose to US$108.44 per barrel while refined petrol at $101.65. Dubai crude oil also increased to $88.82.
