Private organisations propose national strategies

The Board of Trade of Thailand and the Thai Chamber of Commerce on Thursday proposed a set of national strategies for the next government's consideration.

Highlighed is the urge to accelerate domestic consumption, budget spending, and private investment to boost the 2008 economy.

The proposals, based on the brainstorming sessions of members of the organisations, also focus on the promotion of international trade particularly cross-border trade, as well as the accessibility to funding sources.

According Pramon Sutivong, chairman of both organisations, these are the first national agendas and they are the result of the poor economic results in 2007.

The proposals will soon be forwarded to all political parties so that they become part of their economic policies, once they form the government.
