Chuwit said Banharn should announce today, after a meeting with the Democrats, if he wanted to side with them or the People Power Party. This would avoid public confusion over the party's intentions.
"People should be assured that if they vote for Chat Thai the party will not join the opposite camp. Chat Thai must stop being as slippery as an eel,'' he said.
Chuwit said he would stay with Chat Thai but would not run in the upcoming election. He would serve as "a public watchdog" for the country to monitor the election and corruption.
Earlier, he called on Pracharaj Party leader Snoh Thienthong's at his home and hinted he might leave Chat Thai for Pracharaj.
Chuwit also announced plans to put up a billboard to warn the public about dirty politics. The message would read: "There's no such thing as cancelling debt, free education and other freebies.''
Banharn held a press conference yesterday to introduce former Thai Rak Thai MP Premsak Piayura as a Chat Thai candidate. Premsak had recently left the monkhood.
Premsak said he opted to join Chat Thai because he believed the public didn't want to see the country divided and Chat Thai had proved it could stand the test of time under heavy political pressure. He said the party leader had a vision and a clear political stance.
