Matchimathipataya championing for female candidates

The Matchimathipataya Party unveiled the full list of 80 candidates for proportionate vote on Monday and proclaimed itself a champion to promote women in politics by fielding about 40 female candidates for 480 House seats.

"Matchima is very proud to have a highest number of female candidates in comparison to other parties," party secretary general Anongwan Thepsuthin said.

Anongwan said she will lead the party list of 10 candidates for proportionate vote in constituency No 1 covering 11 provinces in the upper North. Each constituency has 10 House seats up for grabs.

Former MP Banying Tangarporn will head the list for constituency No 2 for the lower North and former senator Maleerat Kaewka is to contest in constituency No 3, one of two zones covering the Northeast.

Former senator Karun Saingam will run in constituency No 4, the other zone for the Northeast.

Pramuan Leopairatana, a younger brother of party leader Prachai, is to head the party list for constituency No 5 covering one of two zones in the Central Region.

Prachai is on the top of party list contesting in constituency No 6, including Bangkok. Two newcomers, Chanin Mahatman and Paisal Kaewprasom, will lead partylist candidates in constituencies No 7 (the second zone of the Central Region) and No 8 (the South) respectively.
