MOC release 890,000 tonnes of rice

Commerce Ministry was successful to release the total of 890,000 tonnes of rice from its last week bidding of 914,000 tonnes to 37 rice exporters and millers, generating more than Bt10 billion from this round bidding.

Pisut Chalakornkul, president of the Public Warehouse Organisation (PWO), said that the ministry can release huge rice stockpiles, with good price offered, thanks to shortage of rice in the world markets.

This will also ensure that Thailand will achieve to export 8.5 million tonnes of rice as the targeted this year. - The Nation
