North Korea's PM to visit Lao Sunday

VIENTIANE--The Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Mr Kim Yong Il and his delegation, will pay an official visit to Laos from November 4 to 7, said a press release from the Foreign Ministry.



According to the press release, the visit is in response to the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Mr Bouasone Bouphavanh.

Following is Mr Kim Yong Il's biography:

Premier Kim Yong Il was born on May 2, 1944, in Toksong County , South Hamgyong Province .

He served in the Korean People's Army for 9 years from 1961. He graduated from the University of Sea Transport , and worked on the Three Revolution Team.

He was Officer, Chief Officer and Deputy Director General in the Ministry of Land and Marine Tranport.

He was appointed Minister of Land and Marine Transport. He became Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in April 2007.

He has been Deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly since the 10 th session in September 1998.

He has been awarded the "KIM IL SUNG Order", Supreme Order, and orders and medals including the Order of the National Flag Class 1.
