Gold for Thai

Thailand's Nueng-rue-tai Chaipech claimed a gold in the high jump at the Asian Indoor Games in Macau yesterday.

It was the only gold for the Kingdom on a day 16 gold medals were up for grabs. Defending champion Nueng-rue-tai jumped 1.91 metres, which was a Games record. Thailand are in second place at the Games with nine gold, 17 silver and 15 bronze medals. China bagged five more golds yesterday to keep top position with 68 medals overall, including 35 gold. Kazakhstan was third after winning five silver and four bronze, while South Korea, who failed to grab a single medal, was fourth.
