Man: You won't believe what happened to me this morning! I got the fright of my life!

Woman: Good heavens! What happened?

Man: You know I've taken on this paper route to make a little extra to cover my tuition fees?

Woman: Yeah, and?

Man: You see, it got a little late at Phil's Halloween party. So when I got up this morning I was still pretty dopey. On top of that we had quite a bit of fog and it was really difficult to find my way, especially since there must've been a power cut or something; all the street lights were off.

Woman: Pretty spooky!

Man: Actually, I didn't think much of it at the time, not until I got over to Sam Grooger's house.

Woman: Isn't that in the original part of town?

Man: Sure is! All houses with big yards and old tall trees. Of course, over there the fog was even thicker and you could hardly see your hand before your eyes. When I stopped my bike, the light went off and I had to grope for the paper box. As I turned around there were dozens of little lights shining through the fog, right where the graveyard is. I thought Ol' Jack was coming for me.

Woman: You were dopey all right! After the party you should have realised what day it was!

Man: I did - after about ten minutes.
