Jetrin Inpradit, 23, was arrested at an apartment in Lamphun's Muang district. Deputy police chief General Thanee Somboonsab said Jetrin had confessed and said he was paid Bt30,000 for his role in Charnchai's murder.
The suspect said he knew that Charnchai was the target, but did not know who had commissioned the murder. Jetrin said he had rehearsed the shooting with Thanee Wongphaet, the self-confessed gunman, several times before the murder on October 22.
Police yesterday were looking for a man identified as Kard who allegedly provided the murder weapon.
Charnchai was shot dead while jogging in a park. Five people, including Jongrak Supphasiri, 55, an influential figure, have been arrested.
