Thailand bag 3 gold medals

[ASIAN INDOOR GAMES] Thailand claimed three gold medals in athletics and swimming at the Asian Indoor Games with their swimmers smashing the Games record.

Defending champion Arwut Chinnapasaen proved that he is still the best in the men's freestyle 50 metres event, landing the gold in a record 22.81 seconds. He broke his own mark of 22.95 seconds.

In the men's 200 metres individual medley, countryman Radomyos Matjiur gave the country the second gold, edging former champion Dmitriy Gordiyenko of Kazakhstan with an impressive time of 2min 01.35sec, which was a Games record.

The last gold of the day for Thailand came from Thai sprinter Nongnuch Saenrat, who won the women's 60-metre dash in 7.28 seconds.

China topped the table with 29 gold, 14 silver and 16 bronze, leaving Thailand far behind in second with eight gold, 13 silver and 10 bronze. South Korea are third with five gold, 10 silver and seven bronze.
