Despite the popularity of Thai, Chinese, Continental and American dishes at the Pavilion Restaurant of the Dusit Thani, there is always room to highlight a lesser known but still delicious cuisine.

Today is the last chance for gourmands to sample a selection of popular Czech dishes made especially to celebrate Czech National Day.

Apart from the regular menu, this all-day dining restaurant presents dishes prepared by guest chefs from Grand Hotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary.

The menu features crisp-baked Czech duck with white cabbage, red cabbage with apples, home-made dumpling, potato pancakes, roasted ham with orange sauce, brown rum, apple horseradish and pickled vegetable, beef fillet with cream served with Carlsbad dumpling and home-made pancakes with fresh blueberry and sour cream.

Amazing abalone

Abalone is one of the most expensive ingredients in Chinese cuisine and considered a symbol of wealth and good fortune.

At Conrad Hotel's Liu Chinese Restaurant, chef Wong Kam-Yau has ordered top-quality abalone from Australia, Mexico and Japan, all to be cooked to your personal preference.

The recommended dishes are abalone braised in abalone sauce, abalone fish maw, abalone with goose web and abalone baked with rice in casserole.

Chinese wine and Tsingtao Chinese beer are also available for perfect pairing. The promotion is on until December 31 for both lunch and dinner.
