SRT PROTEST

394 SRT employees leave work today

A total of 394 train drivers and mechanics take leave today, to stage the nationwide protest, according to Deputy Transport Minister Sansern Wongcha-um.

He noted that it remains unsure when this protest will stop, given that the State Railway of Thailand's employees can legally take leave without doctor's orders for two days. He said it is possible that once the employees leaving today are back to work, others could take leaves.

A total of 37 trips have been halted so far today, including the carriages of petroleum, crude oil, cement and gas.
