KUWAIT BANNED BY FIFA

ZURICH: FIFA has officially informed the Kuwait Football Association on Monday of the establishment of a Transitory Board, jointly recognised by FIFA and AFC.



The Transitory Board will be responsible for:

- Management of Kuwait football at national and international levels;

- The drafting and ratification of new statutes for the Kuwait Football Association, based on FIFA's Standard Statutes; the statutes should clearly state that the FA should be free of government interference and the authority lies only in the hands of the Kuwait Football Association Congress.

- The organisation of elections for the future leadership of the Kuwait Football Association before or by 30 April 2007, based on these new statutes and with the support of FIFA and AFC.

- Members of the Transitory Board are not allowed to contest elections for the new board of directors.

The Transitory Board is to be composed of Salman Al Adsani as chairman, Wael Al Habshi (rapporteur) and Ghassan Al Nesaf, Abdul Hameed Mohammed as members.

It is planned that the whole process of transition will be completed before or by 30 April 2007.

With this commitment, the Kuwait Football Association is now in a position to normalise its structure and statutes in accordance with the regulations of FIFA and AFC.
