Thailand settle for silver

[ASIAN INDOOR GAMES] The third day of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games in Macau turned out to be disappointing for Thailand who failed to grab a single gold from the two finals they reached yesterday.

Only two events - bowling and cue sports - were held yesterday, with Thai competitors making it to the finals of both. In the men's single snooker, Thai ace Ratchapol Pu-ob-orm had to settle for the silver medal after going down to the United Arab Emirates' Mustafa Shehab Mohamed, who ousted Thai Issara Kachaiwong in the quarter-finals, 4-3.

It was the same story in the men's doubles bowling as Thai players Yannaphon Larp-apharat and Somjed Kusonpitak were defeated by South Korea's Choi Bok-eum and Park Min-su, who struck gold with 521 points.

After four days, Thailand are second on the medals table with five gold, 11 silver and nine bronze. China are on top with a total of 38 medals, including 18 gold, while Japan are third with five gold, three silver and eight bronze.
