Thienthongs stay tune with Pracharaj
The Pracharaj Party has cancelled its plan to link with another party and will go it alone to field candidates for the December 23 general election, a scion of party leader Snoh Thienthong said on Tuesday.
"My father Snoh has decided not to dissolve the party although he will not object to any members hopping to other parties,"Sorawong Thienthong said.
Sorawong said his party expected to win five to 10 House seats from its strongholds in Sa Kaew, Prachin Buri, Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani.
He said he would seek reelection bid in his Sa Kaew constituency while his father would be a partylist candidate for proportionate voting.
In lastminute negotiations, Snoh's wife Uraiwan met with Pua Paendin executives for a possible linkup but failed to strike a deal.
Earlier Democrat Party secretary general Suthep Thuagsuban urged Snoh to field candidates either with the Democrats or under the Pracharaj banner. Suthep guaranteed a coalition slot based on the DemocratPracharaj alliance.
