Wanlop is facing an investigation into alleged improper conduct.
Jadej Chaowilai, head of the Friends of Women Founda-tion, said apart from inappropriateness over the appointment, it also violated administrative regulations to appoint a person shifted to an inactive post. He called on Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont to intervene in the appointment of Wanlop.
Wanlop was transferred on October 19 to an inactive post in the Prime Minister's Office pending an investigation into alleged corruption and an extra-marital affair.
The Civil Service Commis-sion's 12-member board was appointed on October 11, with Wanlop selected as one of the five members elected from among government officials.
Seema Seemanant, a commission member, said Wanlop was eligible for his post as he was still regarded as the ministry's permanent secretary at the time and no investigation of him had been completed.
