Ramos tells Sevilla that he wants to join Tottenham

Madrid- Juande Ramos has allegedly told UEFA Cup champions Sevilla that he wants to leave the club and go on to coach England's Tottenham Hotspurs.

The Marca sports daily said on its website that Ramos may even quit his Sevilla job later Friday.

Marca said that Tottenham - who sacked Martin Jol on Thursday night - have given Ramos an ultimatum, to either accept their offer immediately or forget all about it.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido reportedly summoned an emergency board meeting for later Friday.

Earlier on Friday, Alvaro Torres, Ramos' agent, told Europa Press that the possibility of the coach joining Tottenham was "just a rumour."

Tottenham made Ramos a lucrative offer in August but the 53 year-old promised then to see out his Sevilla contract, which finishes in June 2008.
