D'Alessandro suspended by troubled Zaragoza

Madrid - Spanish first division club Zaragoza announced on Wednesday evening that they had decided to suspend indisciplined Argentine midfielder Andres D'Alessandro.

The suspension will be in force until the club decides how to punish the talented but difficult playmaker for his training ground outburst on Tuesday against coach Victor Fernandez.

D'Alessandro was sent out of the training session by Fernandez after an ugly argument in which he blamed the latter for the team's problems.

Both D'Alessandro and Fernandez have declined to comment on Tuesday's incident.

Zaragoza have made a poor start despite spending heavily this summer. They are tenth in "La Liga" and already out of the UEFA Cup, eliminated by Aris Salonika.

Failure to beat Villarreal at home on Sunday will increase the pressure on the embattled Fernandez.

D'Alessandro, 26, was signed by Zaragoza from Wolfsburg in 2006. He had failed to adapt to the Bundesliga and had been loaned out by Wolfsburg to Portsmouth.
