SET closes 3.17% higher

Thai shares on Thursday rallied 3.17 per cent to close the market at the day's high of 893.45, driven by capital inflow.

The fund flow was triggered by expectation that the US Federal Reserve would cut its policy rate to boost the country's economy after many indicators obviously showed the sluggish condition.

Among most active, PTT Plc (PTT) surged 6.5 per cent at Bt394, PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) chalked up 7.6 per cent at Bt169, and Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) jumped 3.7 per cent at Bt84.50.
